President in a phone call with his Turkish counterpart: Iran, Turkey determined to boost bilateral, regional tie

President Hassan Rouhani and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey discussed ways of further development of ties between Tehran and Ankara in bilateral, regional and international fields in telephone conversation.

During the call that was made on Wednesday, President Rouhani expressed satisfaction over growing cooperation between the two countries in political, security and economic fields, expressing hope that in the New Year, a boost in bilateral and regional ties can be witnessed.

Dr Rouhani also described accelerating banking cooperation, including forex swap and using national currencies essential and said: 'Deepening banking cooperation and facilitating customs have an important role in cementing relations'.

He also said that Iran was determined to deepen ties with Turkey, adding: 'Tehran-Ankara cooperation and their active cooperation in Sochi and Astana negotiations contribute to the development of regional security and this trend will continue until we reach full security and stability in the region'.

Referring to the Turkish Presidents remarks about the role of some Western and Zionist media in creating unrest in some countries, including Turkey, Rouhani said: 'Iranian polices wise, calming presence in recent limited unrest indicates that we fully trust the security and stability in our country'.

'In the Islamic Republic of Iran, people are free to express their criticism and protest within the framework of the law, and without a doubt, peoples security and peace is very important for us and therefore, we will not remain silent towards violence and unlawful acts'.

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also stressed that Ankara was determined to deepen ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields of mutual interest.

He also went on to say that Ankara attaches great weight to its relations with Tehran in all fields of mutual interest, adding: 'Through deepening banking cooperation and accelerating the use of national currencies of the two countries in economic relations, these relations will further grow'.

He also noted the role of Sochi and Astana summits in strengthening regional stability and security, saying that Tehran and Ankara will continue to work to consolidate stability in the region.

Referring to unrest in recent days in Iran, the Turkish president also referred to similar incidents that some powers had created in his country, saying: 'Turkey does not consider Irans stability and security separate from its own stability and security.

'We believe that the Western media propaganda are against us and have become accustomed to the same old, interventionist statements by people like Trump and Netanyahu,' Erdoğan said, referring to the performance of Western media and statements by senior US officials and the Zionist Regime in promoting the unrest in Iran.
