Speaking at the signing ceremony of the Turkey-EBRD Cooperation Donor Fund Agreement, President Erdoğan said: 'The old Turkey that the foreign investors hesitated to invest in is now a painful memory from the past. The Turkish economy is built upon such solid foundations that neither the July 15 coup attempt nor the turmoil in our region nor the problems within the world finance system affect our economy.'

In his speech at the signing ceremony of the agreement on establishing a cooperation donor fund between the Republic of Turkey and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that Turkey has further diversified its policy on development assistance through this cooperation fund. Noting that he does not see this signing ceremony only as a step just to establish the cooperation fund, President Erdoğan added: 'Today we are also witnessing the point that our country has reached in terms of economy and financing. The Turkey which once waited for loans in front of the doors of IMF is now a distant memory. The old Turkey that the foreign investors hesitated to invest in is now a painful memory from the past.'

'TURKEY IS ONE OF THE OUTSTANDING COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD WITH ITS INVESTMENTS AND PRODUCTION'

President Erdoğan said: 'The Turkish economy is built upon such solid foundations that it achieved a growth rate of 11% in the third quarter and thus showed what kind of a recovery process it is in. We now see that the growth rate will be around 7% for the whole of 2017 by the end of the year. We will maintain this growth rate with determination in 2018, too, without regressing. We have an unwavering confidence and determination to do so. Neither we nor those who believe in, and want to take a determined step with us will be embarrassed. But I have to tell the truth, we have yet to save ourselves from some credit rating agencies' ideological approaches. They maintain their ideological approaches. They are unfortunately treading water with an ideological attitude so much so that they say Turkey 'lacks assurance and stability' at this point. We have no other option but to make them learn this job. Because Turkey is not such a country. Turkey is one of the outstanding countries in the world with its investments and production.'

'THE TURKISH ECONOMY TOPS THE LIST OF THE COUNTRIES THAT REGISTERED THE BIGGEST GROWTH RATES IN 2017'

Underlining that neither the July 15 coup attempt nor the turmoil in our region nor the problems within the world finance system affect Turkey's economy, President Erdoğan said: 'Given the fact that the Turkish economy tops the list of the countries that registered the biggest growth rates in 2017 despite all the troubles, the year of 2018 shall be way different.'

Further stressing, 'The Turkish economy will continue to grow and those who invest in Turkey will continue to win,' President Erdoğan wished the agreement, which crowns the strong cooperation between the EBRD and Turkey, to be beneficial for the bank and the countries that will benefit from the fund, and thanked those who contributed to its establishment.
