PETROPERÚ Petróleos del Perú : PETROPERÚ assisting in the containment works after hydrocarbon spill in Ventanilla

As part of its commitment and socio-environmental responsibility, PETROPERÚ delivered to REPSOL the materials and equipment required to collaborate with the work to contain and recover the hydrocarbon spilled last Saturday 15th in the Ventanilla Sea.

The delivery was made today, at the Callao Naval Base and was attended by PETROPERÚ's Conchán Refining Manager (i), Fidel Murrugarra, as well as other executives of the Operation. On the other hand, the Conciencia Ambiental company, one of Repsol's operators, was in charge of the reception, and together with specialized personnel, set sail at 12 noon on the Vichama tugboat for its deployment at sea between the areas of Pasamayo and Chancay.

The materials and equipment delivered include: a hydraulic reel, a 300-meter containment barrier, a power pack with a 12-volt battery, a blower with an inflation and suction hose of 2 and 6 meters, respectively, and a ¾" x 30-meter rope.

The equipment and materials delivered are normally used in the Notification stage, the first stage of the five that the company must follow in the face of this type of occurrence, and which are duly stipulated in our Contingency Plan.

It should be noted that the Contingency Plan for Oil Spills at Sea is part of the Corporate Contingency Plan of PETROPERÚ S.A., and is part of the Integrated Management Policy for Quality, Environment, Safety and Health at Work, approved by the Company Directory, as well as in the guidelines of the Organic Law that regulates Hydrocarbon Activities in the National Territory (Law No. 26221).
