Ministry of Foreign Affairs of I R of Iran : We benefit from constructive interaction with world with Supreme Leaders guidance

The eleventh government is indebted to the late Imam Khomeini (RA) and committed to following his path and discourse, said President Rouhani on Monday, ahead of the 38th anniversary of Islamic Revolutions Victory Day at Imam Khomeinis tomb.

'In the current situation, we need the Great Founder of the Islamic Revolutions path and discourse,' added Dr Rouhani on Monday.

He continued: 'We should not refer to the late Imams discourse with a selective approach, but all his words and path are guidelines for us, if we approach it with honesty'.

'The late Imams discourse should be interpreted in a way that contributes to strength of our Islamic system, helping the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to be more effective,' he continued.

The President also said that the best manifestation of Imam Khomeinis (RA) path of freedom could be observed during the elections, adding: 'People benefit from this freedom right through attending the elections'.

Stressing the meaning of independence in Imam Khomeinis thinking, he said: 'Independence does not mean isolation, instead it means not being under the domination of others'.

'We are not xenophobic, nor xenophiles,' said Rouhani adding: 'We are Muslims, revolutionaries and Iranians despite all differences and similarities with other peoples'.

He continued: 'We benefit from constructive interaction with the world with Supreme Leaders guidance'.

President Rouhani went on to refer to Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjanis demise and said: 'This year, we lost one of the closest comrades of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the revolution and the people are still mourning his loss'.

'We are very happy that the Supreme Leader, who was the late Imams student, is responsible for leading the Islamic Revolution and we will continue the path of the Islamic Revolution with his guidance until the final victory,' he continued.

Dr Rouhani also expressed condolences over the passing away of conscientious firefighters in the Plasco building incident.

'It is a great opportunity for our revolution and country that Imam Khomeinis grandson, who is a sophisticated cleric and a teacher at Qom seminary, is with us,' the President also added.
