Jakarta, 18/01/2017 MoF - Today (18/01) Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati attended the inauguration of PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) (Persero) office at Sahid Sudirman, Jakarta. In her speech, she explained that PT SMI as state-owned enterprises under the Ministry of Finance, was established in order to help untying budget constraint for infrastructure development.

At the moment of financial crisis, many infrastructure projects were cancelled due to budget. However, infrastructure is urgently needed in Indonesia. 'PT SMI could be a gift for the republic. While it runs the functions, please do remember to perform a good governance for better improvement of our infrastructure,' she said. PT SMI is expected to build a good quality of infrastructure, but with a good governance and planning.

The Minister also wished that all officials and employees of PT SMI will be able to create integrity and transparency, as company's culture. 'I hope PT SMI will be able to creatively scout financing source, yet still keep the integrity. To create working culture and to find solutions for the financing. Be transparent, be accountable, be professional,' she conveyed. (ip/as)
