PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR THE 2014/15 - 2016/17 MEDIUM TERM EXPENDITURE FRAMEWORIC (MTEF) BUDGET
Public participation in financial matters is a key requirement in the budget making process. This is enshrined in the Constìtution and the Public Finance Management Act,
2012.
In view of this, the National Treasury has organized Public Hearings lo enable Sector Working Groups present their budget proposals for the 2014/15 - 2016/17 MTEF period. The Public Hearings are scheduled for 15th- 17th January, 2014 at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC). The overall objective of these fora is to receive feedback from the public and stakeholders and validate the Sector budget proposals for
the next MTEF period.
The Sector budget proposals provide essential input for the preparation of the Budget Policy Statement (BPS) and ultimately inform the Budget Estimates. The Sector Reports containing the budget proposals can be downloaded t'rom Treasury website (www.h·easury.go.ke) .
Members of the public and stakeholders are encouraged lo familiarize themselves with the reports.
