Milpitas Christian School invites the community to attend its open house and enrollment fair that is timed to coincide with National School Choice Week 2017.

The event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 at the school, located at 3435 Birchwood Lane in San Jose. Current and prospective families can take tours led by middle school students and meet staff members.

Milpitas Christian School is a private school serving 348 students in grades PreK – 8. MCS has been part of the San Jose community for 43 years.

The goal of the event is to celebrate great education choices in California and raise awareness among parents about school choice. The celebration is timed to take place right before National School Choice Week (January 22-28, 2017), which will feature more than 21,000 events across the country.

"We are looking for to National School Choice Week because it gives us the opportunity to highlight our school and the options we have for families in our community,” said Michelle Thoreson, Community Development Manager.

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through more than 21,000 independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
