(Stock code: 853) POLL RESULTS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING HELD ON FRIDAY, 3 JANUARY 2014

The board of directors (the "Board") of MicroPort Scientific Corporation (the "Company") is pleased to announce the poll results of the extraordinary general meeting (the "EGM") of the Company held at Lounge, M Floor, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, 1 Harbour Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong on Friday, 3 January
2014 at 9:30 a.m..
Details of the resolutions considered at the EGM were set out in the notice of the EGM dated 15
December 2013, which was despatched together with the circular (the "Circular") to the shareholders of the Company (the "Shareholders") on 16 December 2013. Unless the context otherwise requires, capitalized terms used in this announcement shall have the same meanings as those defined in the Circular.
As at the date of the EGM, the total number of Shares of the Company in issue was 1,408,994,670
Shares, all of which entitled the relevant holders (or their authorized proxies) to attend and vote on the resolutions proposed at the EGM. As stated in the Circular, Otsuka and its associates who together controlled or were entitled to control over the voting rights in respect of an aggregate of 468,994,120
Shares, representing approximately 33.29% of the issued Shares of the Company, were required to abstain from voting on each of the resolutions no. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 at the EGM and accordingly abstained from voting on such resolutions at the EGM. As a result, only the Independent Shareholders holding a total of 940,000,550 Shares were entitled to attend and vote for or against resolutions no. 1, 2, 3, 4 and
5 at the EGM. There were no Shares entitling the holders to attend and abstain from voting in favour of the resolutions at the EGM as set out in Rule 13.40 of the Listing Rules. No persons were indicated in the Circular that they intended to vote against any of the resolutions at the EGM.
In compliance with the requirements of the Listing Rules, Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services
Limited, the Company's branch share registrar, acted as the scrutineer for the vote-counting at the EGM.
