Marel has adopted a new Code of Conduct applicable to all Marel employees, officers and directors globally. The Code, which has now been published on our website, supersedes any codes of conduct or codes of ethics previously established in the past in any of Marel's local entities.

The Code provides general guidance on how employees are to carry out daily activities in line with Marel's vision, values and the highest standard of integrity. Embracing diversity and respecting cultural differences, the Code leaves the management of each of Marel's local units free to specify further local rules of business conduct, provided that such rules are consistent with local law, the Code itself and Marel's values.

The Code has been under development for some time now and has been approved by Board of Directors and Board of Management of Marel hf. The Code is split into four segments discussing:

  1. Marel's employees' commitment to each other
  2. Marel's employees' commitment to customers and the marketplace
  3. Marel's employees' commitment to shareholders
  4. Marel's employees' commitment to partners, communities and the environment
