“As a football fan, I look forward to the Big Game all year long, as I know many others do as well – and it’s incredibly exciting to be part of the action through the Super Bowl XLIX Live Auction Event in Arizona,” said Rob Weisberg, Invaluable CEO. “We’re thrilled to partner with Hunt Auctions to offer this incredible selection of football memorabilia to our bidders, whom I know will be extremely excited about this sale.”

The auction, which features NFL superstar Randall Cunningham’s personal assemblage of football memorabilia as the flagship collection, includes iconic items from his career as well as many other football collectibles.

Items available at auction from Cunningham’s collection include the Bert Bell Most Valuable Player Awards for years 1988, 1990, and 1998 (estimated at $10,000-$20,000 each), the NFL Miller Lite Player of the Year Award (estimated at $20,000-$40,000), a 1992 Reggie White Philadelphia Eagles game worn jersey (estimated at $10,000-$20,000) and a Randall Cunningham game worn Philadelphia Eagles helmet, c.1985-95 (estimated at $3,000-$5,000).

In addition to Cunningham’s collection, Hunt Auctions is again partnering with NFL Auction for the 7th consecutive year to auction hundreds of NFL items from nearly every team within the league. Game-used jerseys, cleats, footballs, and recent Super Bowl memorabilia shine in this collection of keepsakes. All items are authentic, signed, and come straight from the playing fields of the nation’s NFL stadiums. All proceeds from these items benefit the NFL’s charitable efforts, including NFL PLAY 60, the league’s youth health and wellness campaign, and the American Cancer Society to help fight breast cancer.

Highlights of the NFL Auction include a 2014 Aaron Rodgers Green Bay Packers game worn jersey (estimated at $15,000-$20,000), a 2014 J.J. Watt Houston Texans game worn jersey (estimated at $7,500-$10,000) and a 2014 Drew Brees New Orleans Saints game worn jersey (estimated at $4,000-$8,000).

“We are honored to continue our relationship with NFL Auction with our annual Super Bowl Live Auction event,” Hunt Auctions President David Hunt comments. “This particular venue has become the most anticipated football related auction of the year, with this year’s offering rating as the finest to date. We’re excited to partner with Invaluable to expand the reach of this year’s auction to online bidders around the world.”

Lastly, a truly rare personal collection of vintage professional football apparel and items was found in Pittsburgh, PA and will debut at this year’s auction. The collection is that of Mike Cupon, nicknamed “Iron Mike”, who was employed as the visiting team clubhouse manager for Forbes Field and later, Three Rivers Stadium from the 1950s through the 1980s. During this period, he met legendary athletes including Jim Brown, Roberto Clemente, Jack Lambert and Terry Bradshaw and began to acquire a hefty personal collection.

Exciting vintage finds appearing in the Cupon Collection include a Jim Brown Cleveland Browns professional model road jersey c. 1961-63 (estimated at $50,000-$75,000), an Ernie Stautner Pittsburgh Steelers professional model home jersey c. 1950s (estimated at $10,000-$20,000), a Sonny Jurgensen Philadelphia Eagles professional model home jersey c.1960s (estimated at $5,000-$10,000) and a Pittsburgh Steelers AFC Divisional Playoff “Immaculate Reception” game ball (estimated at $2,000-$4,000).

The above mentioned collections will be joined by numerous private consignment pieces from across the country including current NFL classics such as a 2013 Peyton Manning Denver Broncos game worn jersey (estimated at $10,000-$20,000) and vintage classics like an autographed photograph of Fredrick “Fritz” Pollard, who served as the NFL’s first African American head coach (estimated at $2,000-$4,000). All items will be available for view during the Exhibition Preview starting January 24 through game day on February 1.
