FORT WASHINGTON, Pa., Jan. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thermostat Recycling Corporation (TRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Janet Tirado as Director of Marketing & Communication effective immediately.
With the industry-funded nonprofit's move of its corporate headquarters to the Greater Philadelphia region last month, Tirado's prior experiences working in Pennsylvania state and local government made her the logical choice.
"Janet is a highly-regarded communications expert who possesses a wealth of experience in government and nonprofits," said Ryan Kiscaden, TRC Executive Director. "She has a proven track record as an agent of change, and a laser-focused vision on how to take TRC where it needs to be in the next five years."
In 2010, while working under former-PA state representative Bryan Lentz, Tirado was instrumental in bringing the now-closed Florida Gun Loophole to the public's attention. She is also responsible for publicizing and advocating for tightened repeat violent offender legislation in the commonwealth, and promoting a clean energy agenda throughout the country.

Based in Alexandria, Va. since its inception in 1998, TRC relocated its headquarters to 500 Office Center Drive, Suite 400, Fort Washington, Pa. in early December. The move positions executive staff more centrally to major metropolitan hubs that have a higher incident rate of outdated mercury thermostats.
