(Alliance News) - Ireland's trade surplus declined in May, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed Monday.

Ireland's trade surplus contracted 18% in May to EUR7.08 billion from EUR8.61 billion in April.

The country's exports declined 11% to EUR17.15 billion in May from EUR19.25 billion the prior month, while imports fell more mildly, by 5.4% to EUR10.07 billion from EUR10.64 billion.
