Investcorp Bank BSC : Hires CalPERS’ Nelson Ramos to its Alternative Risk Premia Team

NEW YORK, NY, January 19, 2017 - Investcorp, a leading provider and manager of alternative investment products, today announced that Nelson Ramos has joined the Firm's Alternative Investment Solutions Group in New York as co-Portfolio Manager of the Alternative Risk Premia portfolios, Deputy Head of Cross Asset Investments, and a member of the Cross Asset and Investment Committees. Mr. Ramos will focus on the management of the Alternative Risk Premia portfolios and be actively involved in the different stages of the investment process, including cross asset research, factor research and development, and portfolio construction.

Mr. Ramos, an 18-year industry veteran, joins Investcorp from the California Public Employees Retirement Systems (CalPERS), where he managed the quantitative research team that developed and supported the Global Equity and Risk Premia allocation models. He was a member of CalPERS' Tactical Asset Allocation Research group, Global Equity Investment Review Committee and Trust Level Investment Review Committee.

Prior to joining CalPERS, Mr. Ramos spent seven years at Blackrock as an 'Emerging Markets Equity Senior Portfolio Manager with portfolio management, signal research, and model development responsibilities. Mr. Ramos holds an M.S. in Management from ESSEC Business School in Paris. He is also a CFA Charterholder and a designated Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
