Corn and Soybean Farmers Welcome Kettler as Director of Indiana State Department of Agriculture

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 8, 2018) - Jane Ade Stevens, CEO of Indiana Soybean Alliance, Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Corn Growers Association released the following statement in response to Bruce Kettler's appointment as Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director:

'We look forward to working with Bruce Kettler as the new director for Indiana's Department of Agriculture. His understanding of the issues facing Indiana farmers and experience in finding innovative solutions will be of great value to our state. In his last role at Beck's Hybrids, Bruce was an excellent partner and close friend of our organizations and members, and all Indiana Farmers.

We look forward to working with Bruce and the staff at ISDA to grow Indiana's livestock, aquaculture and food sectors that use Indiana corn and soybeans.'

The ICGA board, which works with the state and federal governments to develop and promote sound policies that benefit Indiana corn farmers, consists of nine farmer-directors who provide leadership to the organization on behalf of the 600 ICGA members statewide.

The Indiana Corn Marketing Council was established by the Indiana General Assembly to promote the interest of corn growers in the state and manage corn checkoff funds. The Council is composed of 17 voting farmer directors and seven appointed industry, and government representatives.

The Indiana Soybean Alliance works to enhance the viability of Indiana soybean farmers through the effective and efficient investment of soybean checkoff funds and the development of sound policies that protect and promote the interest of Indiana soybean farmers. The ISA is working to build new markets for soybeans through the promotion of biodiesel, livestock, international marketing, new soybean uses, aquaculture, and research. ISA is led by an elected farmer board that directs investments of the soybean checkoff funds on behalf of more than 28,000 Indiana soybean farmers and promotes policies on behalf of the ISA's 600 dues-paying members.
