INEA has received 84 project proposals requesting over €448 million by today's deadline of six Competitive Low-Carbon Energy topics. The total indicative budget is €75 million. According to estimates, up to 29 projects can be funded through these funds (breakdown below).

Successful projects are expected to develop the next generation of biofuel technologies (topic LCE-08-2016-2017), propose new solutions for the decarbonisation of fossil fuels (topics LCE-27-2017, LCE-28-2017, LCE-29-2017 and LCE-30-2017), or support the market uptake of renewable energy technologies that are ready to be commercialised (topic LCE-21-2017).

The results of the evaluation will be known no later than 4 June 2017. The selection of projects will be done by external independent experts. These evaluators are drawn from the European Commission's database.

The Commission is looking to expand the database through a call for experts covering a very broad range of fields. If you fit the profile and would like to be considered for evaluations, please sign up in the Participant Portal.
