"Hyundai E&C will be the first choice of all customers around the globe when we are competitive enough in quality and technological prowess to become a global top-tier builder."
In his speech, Hyundai E&C CEO Jung Soo-hyun encouraged its executives and staff members to join forces to deal with ever-increasing uncertainty in the economy at home and abroad by achieving quality growth and future competitiveness.
On January 3, Korea's primary builder made a move into New Year 2013, holding a kick-off meeting in the head office in Kye-dong, Seoul, with the attendance of about 600 executives and staff members. Through his presentation, CEO Jung delivered New Year's address and introduced 2013 management policies. With the announcement that the 2013 management objective is to evolve into a global leader in the construction market, Jung stressed that the company needed to use unfavorable conditions including lower growth, poorer profits and decreased local market as a steppingstone toward growth. Moreover, he gave top priorities to establishing the groundwork for future growth, strengthening capabilities for global projects and coming up with a system aimed at responding to risks. To this end, he also announced six detailed strategies such as the increase in technical expertise, nurturing talents and the strengthening of competitiveness, the establishment of global networks, the diversification of overseas markets, the realization of efficiency-centered management and the establishment of a risk management system.
