Hyundai E&C's sales reached alltime high last year, exceeding 10 trillion won in sales for three consecutive years.
According to a tentative report on consolidated business results for 2012 released on January 25, Korea's primary builder recorded 13.3248 trillion won in sales, 21.2056 trillion won in new orders and 760.4 billion won in operating profits. Year on year, sales increased 11.8 percent, new orders 26.7 percent and operating profits 3.4 percent. Market observers say that as its domestic rivals have been struggling with the deteriorating local construction market, Hyundai E&C has achieved the good performance because the enormous efforts put in overseas business enabled the company to take the top spot for orders. In 2012, Hyundai E&C sought to strengthen the capability to receive overseas orders and diversify the market. Moreover, the outfit accelerated its efforts to expand its global market by receiving large scale projects not only in the Middle East and Southeast Asian countries but also in Central and South American areas.
