HYNDBURN Residents Could Cut Energy Bills By Switching Supplier

Published Friday 13th January 2017 in Council and democracy news

Hyndburn residents could save between £200 and £300 a year by switching gas and/or electricity suppliers.

Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration, Cllr Clare Cleary, said; 'The Council and Hyndburn Homewise have teamed up with local company, Utility Renewals Ltd, to help householders in Hyndburn reduce their energy bills. Help is available for all local householders, whether they own their home, rent from a private landlord or live in social rented housing, particularly those households in fuel poverty, who are spending more than 10% of household income on fuel. '

Utility Renewals offer a telephone based service for householders to switch. All householders need to do is provide them with details from most recent gas and electric bills; they will find the best deal and arrange 'a switch' over the phone. At the same time Utility Renewals will offer householders a free 'Energy Assessment Report'.

Councillor Cleary, added; 'A telephone based service from a trusted local company will help Hyndburn's most vulnerable households in fuel poverty as the energy switching market is predominantly web-based and can be confusing.'

Residents should call Utility Renewals on 01282 610396 and they will guide you through the process. They also offer a 'call back' facility.

Households can also use the web based 'Utility Checker' to compare gas and electricity tariffs. Go to http://www.utilitychecker.com/
