Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.

The officials discussed the current status of the main areas of cooperation in the fuel-and-energy sector. Mr Novak emphasised that bilateral energy collaboration is making steady headway. This cooperation embraces all main fields - the gas, oil and nuclear industries and solar generation.

'Our main goal is to preserve the current level of cooperation and make it more productive. Russia remains one of the largest suppliers of natural gas to Hungary and traditionally fulfils its contractual commitments to its foreign partners,' Mr Novak emphasised.

Russia also provides stable supplies of oil, oil products and coal, which occupy an important place in bilateral trade,' he noted.
