South Australian grain growers considering which crop varieties to sow in 2017 can access a useful resource to assist with their decision making. The SA 2017 Sowing Guide provides growers with data and guidance on the most important selection criteria for varieties of wheat, barley, lupins, vetch, chickpeas, canola, oats, lentils, field peas, triticale and beans.

The publication incorporates results from the National Variety Trials (NVT) program, an initiative of the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC). Compiled by SA Research and Development Institute (SARDI*) officers, the guide is sponsored by the SA Grain Industry Trust (SAGIT) in association with Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) and the GRDC. The resource has been mailed to SA growers and can also be viewed and downloaded via the GRDC website.

* SARDI is a division of PIRSA
