Fitch Ratings has published a 'primer' on U.S. Credit Card Asset Backed Securities.

The report includes a brief overview of the credit card industry, different securitization structures used, how credit enhancement is obtained, key performance metrics including pricing and collateral analysis, and the recent regulatory changes that the asset class has adapted to.

As of the end of 2013, Fitch rates over $118 billion of securitized credit card receivables. Performance metrics reached new records during the year, which reflects the continued stability of the sector.
