Local parents will consider school choice for their families and celebrate the opportunity it provides at a school fair timed to coincide with National School Choice Week on Friday, January 26 at 5:00 pm at the Kingdom Life Church in Baltimore.

The event, “BMORE TalentED,” will be a parent and student-focused school fair featuring a wide range of high quality schools across the Baltimore area, including public, private, Catholic, and charter schools where students can learn more about their educational options. The evening’s program will include remarks for local education officials, a salute to students for academic achievement and stellar performances from some of the local schools.

The goal of the event is to showcase educational options for Maryland students and celebrate their availability. The celebration is timed to coincide with National School Choice Week (January 21-27, 2018), which will feature more than 32,000 events across the country.

"We have an opportunity in Baltimore to empower parents with the resources to choose the best school for their child," said Pastor Michael Phillips, board chair of Faith leaders for Excellent schools. "This event will bring together community leaders, parents, and educators and students for a spirited conversation about the state of education in Baltimore and to recognize the immense talent we have across our city through the vast array of educational options available.”

The event is planned by Faith Leaders for Excellent Schools and Kingdom Life Church.

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through more than 32,000 independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
