2 a. The Commission shall report in 2027 for the period from 2021 to 2025, and in 2032 for the period 2026 to 2030, on the Union's total emissions and removals of greenhouse gases for each of the land accounting categories referred to in Article 2 under Regulation (EU) .../... [LULUCF], calculated as the total reported emissions and removals for the period minus the value obtained by multiplying by five the Union's average annual reported emissions and removals in the period 2000 to 2009. On the basis of the findings of the report, the Commission shall, as appropriate, make proposals to ensure the integrity of the Union's overall 2030 greenhouse gas emission reduction target and its contribution to the goals of the Paris Agreement.

(This amendment is meant to replace the paragraph 2c of AM 175 of this ENVI/ITRE report, A8-0402/2017.)

Technical adjustment taking into account the provisions in art 12(2a) and 15(1) second part of the Regulation on the inclusion of greenhouse gas emissions and removals from land use, land use change and forestry into the 2030 climate and energy framework and amending Regulation (EU) No 525/2013

and Decision No 529/2013/EU (LULUCF). This would replace the paragraph 2c of AM 175 of this ENVI/ITRE report in line with the outcome on LULUCF regulation negotiations with the Council, 14 December 2017.
