Building Activity Survey: October 2012
According to provisional data published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority, in October 2012 the total Building Activity (private-public), in the whole country-which is calculated on the basis of the number of issued in the whole country -amounted to 1,506. This figure corresponds to 276.5 thousand m2 of surface and 1,077.3 thousand m3 of volume, reflecting respectively a 42.7 % decrease in the number of building permits, a 32.4 % decrease in surface and a 27.0 % decrease in volume, compared to the same month of 2011 (Table 1).
Private Building Activity, in the whole country, summed to 1,487 building permits, corresponding
to 259.7 thousand m2 of surface and 1,006.0 thousand m3 of volume. In comparison with the same month of 2011, there is a 43.1 % decrease in the number of building permits, a 35.7 % decrease in surface and a 30.8 % decrease in volume (Table 2).
Public Building Activity in the whole country in October 2012 amounted to 19 building permits, corresponding to 16.8 thousand m2 of surface and 71.3 thousand m3 of volume. The Public Building Activity accounted for the 6.6 % of the total building volume in October 2011.
In the last twelve months, from November 2011 until October 2012, the total Building Activity (private public) in the whole country, calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits, amounted to 26,127 . This figure corresponds to 4,754.3 thousand m2 of surface and 18,500.3 thousand m3 of volume, reflecting a 31.6 % decrease in the number of building permits, 31.2 % decrease in surface and a 29.2 % decrease in volume, compared with the corresponding period of November 2010 until October 2011 (Table 3).
In the same period from November 2011 until October 2012 , Private Building Activity in the whole
country recorded a 31.8% decrease in the number of issued building permits, a 32.3 % decrease in surface and a 30.5 % decrease in volume, compared with the respective period from November
2010 until October 2011 (Table 4). For the same period, the Public Building Activity accounted for the 4.4 % of the total building volume.
During the period January- October 2012, the total Building Activity (private-public) in the whole country recorded a 32.8 % decrease in the number of building permits, a 26.8 % decrease in surface and a 24.7 % decrease in volume, compared with the same period of the year 2011 (Table
5).
During the same period, January- October 2012, Private Building Activity in the whole country recorded a 33.1% decrease in the number of issued building permits, a 28.5 % decrease in surface and a 26.6 % decrease in volume, in comparison with the same period of January- October 2011 (Table 6).
