​On the occasion of the establishment of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), Acting Director Dr Andrea Ammon said:
'ECDC welcomes the Africa CDC to the international public health community. We look forward to exchanging knowledge and experience with each other.'
The Africa CDC was officially established by heads of states and governments of the African Union and the leadership of the African Union Commission on 31 January 2017.
