TIMONIUM, Md., Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of CurePSP has announced the appointment of David Kemp as President effective immediately. He succeeds Richard Gordon Zyne, MS, DMin, who has retired after 10 years leading the organization.
The leadership change marks CurePSP's expanding role in funding research and increasing public awareness of the broader spectrum of rare neurodegenerative diseases, including PSP (progressive supranuclear palsy) and CBD (corticobasal degeneration). CurePSP will continue to maintain and enhance its services and support for patients, their families, and other caregivers.
The announcement was made by Board Chair John T. Burhoe and Vice-Chair Everett R. Cook. According to Mr. Burhoe, "Since its founding 25 years ago, CurePSP has been a leader in supporting research into the rare neurodegenerative diseases PSP and CBD and in providing support and education to patients, their families, other caregivers, and healthcare professionals. We appreciate the leadership of Dr. Zyne in these efforts over the last 10 years."

Mr. Kemp was most recently Chief Executive and owner of Jager Di Paola Kemp Design (JDK), a leading design and marketing firm working for prominent consumer-products brands. Earlier in his career, he was Chief Executive and owner of Harmon Kemp, Inc., a New York corporate-graphics firm; Manager of Public Relations for Dow Jones & Co. in New York; and a reporter, columnist, and editor with several publications including The Boston Globe. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business.
