BOSTON, MA and WESTBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwired - Jan 22, 2014) - Retroficiency, the building efficiency intelligence company for utilities and energy service providers, and Conservation Services Group (CSG), the U.S. leader in residential energy efficiency, today announced that CSG will use Retroficiency's platform to enhance building prioritization, customer engagement and on-site energy audits for multifamily buildings. Accessing Retroficiency's platform will enable CSG to add a new dimension to its existing capacity for analyzing monthly data, combining records and obtaining building profiles to address high heating and cooling loads.

CSG works across more than three dozen programs to manage and deliver energy efficiency, with several specifically targeted at multifamily housing. The company anticipates that Retroficiency will enable it to significantly improve its ability to identify customers with high savings potential in the multifamily arena and reduce auditing time and expenses.

Utility-centric energy efficiency programs targeting multifamily buildings represent a significant opportunity to save energy and reduce energy-related costs. In its December 2013 report, "Apartment Hunters: Programs Searching for Energy Savings in Multifamily Buildings," the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) states that, while significant cost-effective savings opportunities exist within multifamily buildings, utilities and program administrators view this segment as hard to penetrate. ACEEE concludes that deeper, use-type specific retrofits that address multiple fuel sources are crucial to overcome traditional barriers, realize savings and make these programs more effective.

Through this partnership, CSG will combine its decades of program and technical expertise, and well-established methodology, with Retroficiency's leading analytics-driven energy modeling capabilities to rapidly identify and evaluate energy-saving opportunities for multifamily buildings. This comprehensive and cost-effective approach will benefit owners, property managers and tenants in CSG's programs across the United States.

"CSG has a long-standing practice in finding apartment buildings that can benefit from energy efficiency improvements and organizing contractors to make those improvements. Retroficiency's rapid energy modeling software will play a key part in evolving our programs by helping CSG better evaluate energy-saving opportunities in multifamily building portfolios," said Mark Dyen, executive vice president, strategy & products, Conservation Services Group. "Retroficiency's ability to help us more effectively leverage data across the efficiency lifecycle will ensure that we can meet and exceed our clients' energy efficiency goals today and in the future."

CSG will leverage Retroficiency's Automated Energy Audit, a Building Efficiency Intelligence platform solution, to speed and improve CSG's ability to diagnose and treat multifamily buildings in comprehensive retrofit programs. In addition, Retroficiency's Virtual Energy Assessment will provide CSG with the ability to target customers by their energy savings potential and existing opportunities.

"Retroficiency's relationship with CSG further validates that there is a growing market need to take data analytics-driven approaches in order to achieve energy efficiency goals," said Bennett Fisher, co-founder and CEO, Retroficiency. "Retroficiency provides the only platform that can deliver meaningful insights and recommendations from a diverse set of data at any point in the efficiency process, for any type of building. We are excited to have been chosen by a market leader like CSG."
