Common Briar features 14 fully furnished bedrooms. Members will enjoy large living rooms and kitchens with sunrooms in addition to shared community spaces including outdoor space and a lounge with work and study space. The home is conveniently located in one of Chicago’s liveliest and most accessible neighborhoods, where members will be blocks away from restaurants, live music venues, street festivals, and a thriving scene for theater, dance, and comedy along scenic Lincoln Park.

“The demand for coliving in Chicago was evident by how quickly we filled Damen, our first home in the city that opened in 2017,” said Brad Hargreaves, Founder and CEO of Common. “Demand has continued to rise, and we now receive 1,000 applications each week. The opening of Common Briar in Lakeview is an exciting expansion of our network, giving members access to one of Chicago’s liveliest neighborhoods. We look forward to introducing Common’s seamless living experience to a new community of members.”

Working with real estate partners to design, create and operate coliving homes around convenience and community, Common makes it easier to find and live with roommates in major cities. Potential members apply online with a financial and background check, and complete a short phone interview before joining a home. Common homes are fully furnished and include warmly designed community spaces and art hooks in bedrooms to allow members to personalize their space. Membership at Common is all-inclusive, meaning members pay one price for rent and amenities like a home Slack channel, weekly cleanings, shared supplies, and on-site laundry. Members also have the ability to move seamlessly from one Common home to another in any city in Common’s network.

Common Briar marks Common’s continued expansion, which included new home openings in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Washington D.C. in 2017. Common receives more than 1,000 membership applications per week and will open hundreds of new rooms in new and existing cities to meet renters’ demand for a better way to live with roommates. In December 2017, Common announced a $40 million Series C round.

Pricing at Common Briar starts at $1550 per month for a 12-month commitment. For more information and to apply, visit www.common.com.
