Grand Opening of Chroma Building - a Student's Dormitory Donated to National Chiao Tung University Tainan Campus

Chroma ATE Inc. is a world leading supplier of precision Test and Measurement Instrumentation, Automated Test Systems, Intelligent Manufacturing Systems and Turnkey Test and Automation Solutions. Through the involvement of academia and industry, Chroma assisted the College of Photonics at Tainan campus of Chiao Tung University to construct a new dormitory and housing center, held the opening ceremony on Dec. 25, 2017.

Frank Chang, the principal of NCTU, Tainan acting mayor Li Meng Yung, Chroma CEO Leo Huang, Acer Group founder Stan Shih, Himax Technologies founder Biing-Seng Wu, Catcher Technology CEO Allen Hong, Wistron CEO Simon Lin and Hermes-Epitek GM Hsu Chin-jung unveiled the monument to the completed building for opening officially. The dormitories were built through the collaboration of industry-academic with construction fees donated by alumni and enterprises. They are named as Chroma building, Himax building, Catcher building, Wistron building and Hermes building to be the spiritual and cultural assets forever.

Besides providing students with comfortable accommodation space, the National Chiao Tung University will allocate a certain percentage of student accommodation fees annually as the research cooperation fund to implement the industry-academic collaboration.

Chroma has been actively participating in the industry-academic collaboration and research projects by means of combining the academic research and Chroma's industrial advantages to nurture talents. Chroma also provides undergraduate scholarships and internship opportunities to students allowing the younger generation to get in touch with the corporate culture and understand the industry trends early.
