Provisional data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that in November 2012, the total foreign trade turnover at current prices comprised LVL 1 456.3 million - 4.1 % or LVL 63.0 million less than a month before and 16.3% or LVL 204.5 million more than in November 2011.
As compared to the previous month, export value in November 2012 increased by 1.4%, while import value decreased by 8.7%. The most significant growth was recorded in export of vegetation products - of LVL 27.8 million or 39.8% (of which in export of cereals - of LVL 31.6 million or 74.0%) and in export of machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment - of LVL 14.0 million or 14.6%.In its turn, the most notable drop in imports was observed in import of mineral products - of LVL 22.2 million or 15.2%, in import of vehicles, aircraft, vessels and associated transport equipment - of LVL 18.2 million or 22.9% and in import of textiles and textile articles - of LVL 12.2 million or 30.2%.
In January - November 2012 foreign trade turnover value reached LVL 14 323.4 million - an increase of 14.1% or LVL 1 772.4 million as compared to the corresponding period year ago.Of which exports comprised LVL 6 337.8 million - an increase of 15.4% or LVL 843.9 million, whereas imports constituted LVL 7 985.6 million - 13.2% or LVL 928.5 million more than a year ago.

In November 2012 the most significant share (67.0%) in Latvia's export had export to the countries of the European Union, followed by export to the CIS countries - 16.1%.The main export partners were Lithuania (16.6% of total export), Estonia (12.0%), Russia (11.6%), Germany (8.9%) and Sweden (4.9%).
In November 2012 the most significant share in Latvia's import had import from the countries of the European Union (75.5%), followed by import from the CIS countries - 16.3%.The main import partners were Lithuania (18.5% of total import), Germany (11.5%), Russia (9.2%), Poland (8.1%) and Estonia (7.5%).
