Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Saud Al Meshari received in his office on Wednesday, January 18, the Italian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Luca Ferrari, where the two sides discussed areas of economic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Italy.
Dr. Al Meshari stressed the distinguished Saudi-Italian relations, noting Italy as one of the main trade partners to Saudi Arabia, and pointing at the same time to the significant role of the Saudi-Italian Business Council's role in enhancing joint investments, and the need to activate it. He encouraged for both sides to capitalize on their respective investment opportunities as the two countries possess economic openness and flexibility that are attractive to foreign investors. He additionally noted Italy's distinguished position as an attractive tourist spot to Saudis.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador assured Italy's keenness on cooperating with their Saudi counterpart, and creating investments in the Kingdom. In addition to increasing joint cooperation and attracting more Saudi investments into the Italian market, particularly in value-added projects. He mentioned the Italian business sector's efforts and interest in strengthening relations with Saudis, and highlighted the attractive investment environment in Italy; encouraging for more delegation exchanges between the two countries and increased cooperation in exchanging information pertaining to the latest business opportunities and technologies.

The meeting additionally discussed the Saudi business sector's participation in the upcoming Saudi-Italian Joint Committee meeting in Rome this month.
