The CBI is at the World Economic Forum in Davos, hosting events including a high-profile business leaders' lunch and breakfast briefing.

As part of her programme, Carolyn Fairbairn met prime minister David Cameron MP to discuss priorities for the UK economy. The prime minister also gave a keynote speech in Davos in which he urged business leaders to speak out and support him to keep Britain in a reformed EU, warning that the 'stakes for the UK are high'. As he continues his drive to secure EU reform he highlighted the aim of a completed single market, more trade deals and fewer burdensome regulations.

Responding to the prime minister's speech, Carolyn emphasised that business leaders, on whatever side of the debate, should feel able to speak out on the implications for their business of staying in or leaving the EU, as no-one is better placed to explain what this vital decision means for jobs, growth and investment in the years ahead.

As part of a busy programme, the CBI is co-hosting high-level events including the British Business Leaders Lunch and the CBI/KPMG Business Leaders Breakfast Briefing. Lunch attendees hear from chancellor George Osborne MP, while ITV political editor Robert Peston will address the breakfast briefing.
