Blue Outdoor, a privately held Out-of-Home advertising company announced today that it has sold its media advertising sales and management rights at Boston's South Station to Clear Channel Outdoor. South Station is located in the heart of Boston's major business district and serves as the major downtown commuter rail station. The station's advertising offering includes over 70 static faces and 2 large format digital screens.

In anticipation of new undertakings, Blue Outdoor president, Evan Seigerman, explained, "South Station is the best asset in Boston, and we have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to develop and sell this location. It is a timely sale for Blue Outdoor and the vision of our business. We know Clear Channel will represent this asset well and continue its strong growth."

"Over the past six years, Blue Outdoor has steadily built up the advertising offerings at South Station, one of Boston's two busiest transit hubs, to create the largest 'station domination' in the country," continued Seigerman. In 2013, the company managed the installation of a pair of 10'H x 17'W LED screens at the station, and oversaw the installation of the station's new exterior lighting, debuted with a Bank of America campaign in April of last year.

Throughout Blue Outdoor's tenure, the highly sought-after station domination has featured brands such as Apple, JetBlue, Merrill Lynch, Stella Artois, and Samsung.

Commenting on the transaction, John Conley, Vice President, Equity Office, which owns the land lease for South Station remarked, "Blue Outdoor has done a tremendous job building South Station-Boston into one of the largest station dominations in the country. Blue Outdoor's vision and execution has enabled South Station to begin to realize its financial potential. We wish them continued success as they move forward."
