Strengthen Ability to Perform Duties and Tamp the Foundation for Party Building

--UCD's 2019 training course for enhancing Party workers' ability to perform duties

The quest for knowledge in 2018 has not gone far, and the enthusiasm for learning in 2019 is coming. On the morning of January 7, in the first week after the New Year's Day, applauses were heard by fits and starts from the conference room of UCD's Sanluju office area, suggesting the opening of the 2019 training course for enhancing Party workers' ability to perform their duties.

Being comprehensive, responsible and efficient has always featured the party work team, especially the grass-roots front-line party workers, most of whom are technical core members and not only have they taken the lead in ideological work, but also on the production line. Not only have they played an exemplary and leading role, but they have also promoted the in-depth integration of Party building and the central work. However, with the development of the new situations, the professionalism of Party work is becoming increasingly demanding, gradually unmasking the lack of relevant professional knowledge in Party building.

In order to further study and implement Xi Jinping's Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, tamp the foundation for grass-roots party construction, promote the standardization of Party branches, enhance the ability of party workers to perform their duties, build a strong Party stronghold, and advance strict Party governance in depth, UCD's Party committee joined hands with its Party school to have conducted the 2019 training course for enhancing Party workers' ability to perform their duties. To meet the requirements of the broad masses of Party members and cadres, the training course held this year increased the number of trainees as compared to that of the training course in the previous year, ranging from secretaries, members and Party workers of Party organizations at various levels, with the number of trainees reaching nearly 100. UCD's Party committee expounded the basic theories as well as actual operations in work, placing the course on a high, profound, broad and warm level in an effort to build the training course into a new name card of UCD's Party committee. UCD's Party secretary and deputy general manager Li Guoqing, deputy Party secretary and trade union chairperson Mi Jianzhou, and Party discipline inspection secretary Li Siguo attended the opening ceremony.

The training course is composed of experts and professors from the Central Party School, Tsinghua University, China Youth Political College, as well as spokespersons of Beijing Municipal Government, etc. The contents of the training were varied and colorful, including how to enhance the ideological ability of leading cadres, how to enhance the vitality and effectiveness of the work of Party branches, how to do a good job in the work of Party branch secretaries at the grass-roots level, the organizational line of the Party in the new era, and Xi Jinping's thought of selecting and employing personnel, public opinion guidance, crisis management, current macroeconomic situations, interpretation of the Communist Party of China's Branch Work Regulations (Trial Implementation), interpretation of the Communist Party of China's Disciplinary Regulations (Revised 2018), etc., The training course met the requirements of all trainees, and arranged the on-the-spot study at the new airport in Beijing, which tallied with the requirement of 'learning to meet practical needs and strengthening practice' put forward by secretary Li Guoqing.

New era, new tasks and new requirements. The training broadened the views of Party workers and enhanced their professional abilities and comprehensive qualities. The training also demanded that the trainees turn what they had learned into powerful driving force to facilitate their work, stay true to and bear in mind the mission, constantly improve the scientific level in grassroots Party building with the spirit of reform and innovation, and make still greater contribution to expediting the construction of UCD into a 'design-oriented integrated urban construction service provider' !.
