Axxess, an industry leader in home health management software, presented Principal Dennis Taylor of Kennedy-Curry Middle School with 100 uniforms for boys and girls yesterday. Kennedy-Curry is part of the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) and is a Title 1 federally funded campus. Located in South Dallas, it is comprised of approximately 800 students in grades 6 – 8.

Through an initial Principal for a Day meeting and subsequent conversations with Axxess President and CEO John Olajide and Kennedy-Curry Principal Dennis Taylor on various needs of the school, the school’s administration determined the most immediate need was for school uniforms, which are mandatory. Uniforms are available at the Eagle’s Nest Resource Center, an on-campus resource for students to receive assistance with proper uniform attire and school supplies. The resources are available at no cost to students or their families.

In October 2014, Axxess President and CEO John Olajide participated in the Principal for a Day program, sponsored by the Dallas ISD and the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce. Principal for a Day brings community and business leaders into schools across the district to help increase awareness of strengths and challenges of public schools and create opportunities for ongoing partnerships with businesses.

“We are always looking for ways to give back to a community that has given so much to us, therefore, when presented with the opportunity to partner with the Dallas Regional Chamber, the Dallas ISD, and other organizations in support of Principal for a Day, we gladly accepted,” said Olajide. “An important part of the Axxess culture is to invest in communities where we do business. Partnering with schools such as Kennedy-Curry is one of the many ways we can help strengthen our community.”

Principal Taylor believes that “addressing the needs of the whole child will lead to improved student achievement." Axxess applauds Kennedy-Curry and Principal Taylor’s commitment to excellence in academics and looks forward to forging a long-term relationship to support additional programs that position students for a new world of possibilities.
