PHOENIX, Jan. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliance Residential Company is pleased to announce Sean Murphy has joined its Investments Team as Senior Investment Associate responsible for identifying and executing value-add investment opportunities nationwide, with a specific focus on Southern California, Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
Based out of Alliance's San Diego office with a percentage of time spent each month at its Phoenix headquarters, Murphy will handle sourcing and underwriting, as well as conduct financial, operational and market due diligence, and ensure business plan execution on acquired properties.
Murphy brings five years of experience in the multifamily industry. Prior to joining Alliance, he held various roles with JPI Companies, including asset management and land acquisition. As a Vice President and Regional Asset Manager, Murphy was responsible for overseeing start-up marketing, lease-up and stabilization efforts for 2,000 units in the Western United States.
Prior to JPI, Murphy was an Acquisitions Officer with ConAm Management, a role where he was involved in acquiring 3,200 units representing $450 million in multifamily assets. He was also directly responsible in securing the purchase of $60 million in off-market assets during his ConAm tenure.
Before his multifamily career, Mr. Murphy was previously recognized as a top-performing and decorated police officer in the City of Phoenix. He wore many hats as a patrol officer, plainclothes Neighborhood Enforcement Team Officer and Gang Enforcement Unit Reserve Officer/Detective.
Murphy graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, earned his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix and obtained a Master's of Science in Real Estate from the University of San Diego.
Murphy was previously a Board of Trustee Member for the Rutgers University Alumni Association, currently serves on the Building Industry Association (BIA) of San Diego's Urban Council and is a recognized member of the NMHC Emerging Leaders Group.
