The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has revised the release date of the final decision on AusNet Services' electricity transmission revenue determination for 2017-22.

AusNet Services' revised proposal was submitted to the AER on 21 September 2016, setting out the revenue it proposes to collect from Victorian electricity consumers through transmission charges for the five year period. The revised proposal contained a significant amount of material, including consultancy reports. Revising the release date of the final decision provides some scope for the AER to consider the new material submitted by AusNet Services.

Our final decision was to be published at the end of January 2017. We now intend to release the final decision by the end of April 2017. We do not anticipate that our revised date will have any impact on Victorian consumers.

AusNet Services' owns and operates the electricity transmission network in Victoria. The role of the AER is to determine the amount of revenue that AusNet Services' can recover from its customers so that they pay no more than necessary for safe and reliable electricity services.
