Although products offering exposure to private equity already exist, such as Invesco's ETF, challenges remain, particularly in terms of valuation and liquidity.
Some experts are sceptical, considering that private equity is not easily transposable to the traditional ETF format.
However, despite these obstacles, innovation in the sector could eventually facilitate access to this asset class via ETFs.
