Addressing a delegation from the Young Businessmen Confederation of Turkey, President Erdoğan said: 'We will make Turkey a hub of investment, production and technology with the international investments we will attract primarily in high-tech industries.'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Chairman of the Young Businessmen Confederation of Turkey (TÜGİK) Erkan Güral and his accompanying delegation at Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul.

'WORKS TO UPDATE THE CUSTOMS UNION AGREEMENT CONTINUE'

Addressing the TÜGİK delegation, President Erdoğan, referring to the Free Trade Agreement signed with the United Kingdom, said that it was the most important trade deal signed by Turkey after the Customs Union agreement, and added: 'We have ensured with this agreement that our trade relations with the UK will increasingly continue after the Brexit. The works to update the Customs Union agreement with the European Union continue as well.'

We aim to ensure that Turkey will enter the post-pandemic era as a strong, resilient and competitive global actor, stressed President Erdoğan, adding that Turkey's efforts to diminish the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic would be supported by the steps Ankara would take in macroeconomic and financial fields. 'While we consolidate the strong aspects of the economy, we will resolutely address the issues that require precautions,' the President stressed.

'WE WILL MAKE TURKEY AN IMPORTANT ACTOR OF THE CHANGING GLOBAL VALUE CHAIN'

Also drawing attention to over 15 billion dollars of foreign portfolio investment made in Turkey in recent months, President Erdoğan stressed that investors who had confidence in Turkey would continue to win as had been the case so far.

We attach importance to economic growth's contribution to stability and job generation as well as itself, noted President Erdoğan, and said: 'In this regard, we will make Turkey an important actor of the changing global value chain with new moves. We will make Turkey a hub of investment, production and technology with the international investments we will attract primarily in high-tech industries.'

President Erdoğan reiterated that all necessary steps would be taken to create a climate in which the investment environment would be further improved, predictability would be further increased and the expectations of investors would be met to a greater extent.
