Tom is Global Head of Equity Research.
He has been with the company since graduating from Oxford University, where he read Physics, in 1983.
He has covered a variety of sectors in equity research, including UK and European transport (1984–1987), Japanese real estate, railways, and trading companies (1988–1990), UK and European leisure (1991–1992), and Japanese equity market strategy (1993–1996).
In 1994 he was appointed Head of Research in Tokyo.
In 1996 he returned to London to lead the globalisation of UBS Warburg’s sector research.
Tom was appointed Chief Strategist in 2000.
In the 2000 Global Institutional Investor survey, he was a runner-up for Global Equity Strategy.
