Profile

Mr. Bliasmptis joined Knightsbridge as a Managing Principal in 2001.
He leads our Venture Exposure Management program and participates on our venture investment team.
His expertise builds on his career at Brinson Partners, Inc., where he was co-head of Brinson's investment team that managed roughly $10 billion in investments in U.S.
based venture, buyout and special situation limited partnerships.
His primary responsibility was in leading Brinson's venture capital investment program.
Prior to joining Brinson in 1989, Mr. Bliasmptis spent four years in the Treasurer's office of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was responsible for managing MIT's venture investment activities.
While at MIT, he authored a well-known paper analyzing the IRR impact of the then-standard draw down procedures in the venture industry, precipitating an industry-wide move toward just-in-time draw downs.
Mr. Bliasmptis has both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT and is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu and Sigma Xi honor societies.
He was awarded a Draper Fellowship in 1979 and served from 1979 to 1983 as a member of the technical staff at Draper Laboratory where he designed controls for electromechanical systems.
He also holds an M.B.A.
from The Wharton School.
