Tariq Al-Rifai

Mr. Al-Rifai has experience in Islamic investment and retail banking, Islamic equity funds, and Shariah-compliant structuring.
He has worked with financial service companies in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.
He was in Dubai in 2006 to help establish UIB Capital LLC, a regulated financial services firm, in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Prior to joining UIB Capital, Mr. Al-Rifai was Vice President of Islamic banking at HSBC Bank in New York, where he was responsible for developing and distributing the bank's Shariah-compliant product offering.
Previously, he was a partner in the London office of The International Investor, a Kuwait-based investment bank, where he was responsible for building distribution relationships with financial institutions in Europe and the Middle East.
Early in his career he established Failaka International, Inc., a financial research and consulting firm specializing in Islamic fund research.
Mr. Al-Rifai earned his B.S.
in International Finance at St. Cloud State University and an M.B.A.
in International Management from DePaul University.
