Prior to Northern Trust, he spent five years as an Emerging Market Equities Fund Manager for Deutsche Asset Management.
He was also an Analyst and Fund Manager in long/short equities, including North American, Emerging and Pacific Basin equities at Hermes Investment Management and served as an Audit Manager for Arthur Andersen offices in both London and Singapore.
Mr. Rothwell received a degree in Natural Sciences from St. John's College, Cambridge University.
He also attended the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) and the Association of UK Society of Investment Professionals (AUKSIP).
He is currently a member of AUKSIP, where he serves as a Chairman of the Case Study Examination Panel and as a Member of the Investment Management Certificate Examination Panel.
