Mr. Pingrong Yu is the Partner of SV Tech Fund I and SV Tech Fund II.
Since starting his first company while pursuing a Ph.D.
in Colorado, Pingrong has founded, managed, and invested in many companies in the U.S.
and China.
Most recently, he was the Founder & CEO of Optony, a cleantech company started in Silicon Valley and expanded globally.
He was a researcher at the National Renewable Energy Lab, and was an early employee at Innovalight (acquired by DuPont).
As Chairman of Solar Decathlon China, he challenged teams from 13 countries to build zero energy buildings.
He has published more than 30 patents and peer-reviewed papers.
Mr. Pingrong Yu obtained his Ph.D.
from the University of Colorado at Boulder and B.S.
in Chemistry from Peking University.
