Sean Jackson, CFA MBA, is a Managing Director & Senior Research Analyst at Avondale Partners LLC.
Mr. Jackson joined Avondale in July 2001.
Before Avondale, he was director, equity research at SunTrust Equitable Securities, concentrating in Internet security.
In January 2000, he published the securities industries’ first comprehensive research piece on Internet Security, a 128-page report entitled “Making Sense of Security.” Mr. Jackson's follow up to this report was released in March 2001, a 77-page piece entitled “Managed Security Services: The Next Wave of Security Solutions.” In May 2003, he was ranked by the Wall Street Journal as the number one analyst in the software sector based on stock-picking.
In June 2001, he was recognized again as a Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst for stock-picking in the Internet sector.
This award was preceded by his ranking from bulldogresearch.com in 2000 as the number one ranked Internet software analyst based on price performance of buy and strong buy recommendations.
In 1999, he was the number one ranked analyst at SunTrust Equitable Securities based on strong buy recommendations.
Prior to SunTrust Equitable, he worked for four years as actuarial consultant for Thornthwaite & Co., and one summer as a research analyst at Fidelity Investments.
Mr. Jackson earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Engineering at Princeton University.
