Dr. Marc Jeuland is a Researcher at RWI - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V.
He joined the Research Group "Climate Change in Developing Countries" in January 2017.
He is an assistant professor at the Sanford School of Public Policy and the Duke Global Health Institute.
His research focuses on nonmarket valuation, water, and sanitation, environmental health, energy and development, the planning and management of transboundary water resources, and the impacts and economics of climate change.
He has conducted fieldwork on preferences for environmental health-improving technologies in many low-income settings across Asia and Africa.
His current field projects include an impact evaluation of water and wastewater infrastructure investments in Jordan, various studies of the demand and impacts of more efficient cooking technologies in India and Senegal, and a new effort to combine primary and secondary data from field surveys with satellite imagery to understand better how access to infrastructure is related to improved rural livelihoods.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Chemistry from Swarthmore College and a Master's degree and Ph.D.
from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in Environmental Engineering and Economics.
