The firm was founded in 1988 as Ecclesiastical Buildings Fire Office to protect the Anglican Church. EdenTree was a wholly owned subsidiary of Benefact Group Plc until January 2023 when the entire ordinary issued share capital of the firm was transferred to EdenTree Holdings Ltd. (EHL) as part of the Group wide restructuring. They are ultimately owned by Benefact Trust Ltd. EdenTree provides a broad range of insurance, financial services and risk management solutions to meet the specific needs of its customers and business partners, which includes charities and heritage property owners. They manage the EdenTree Investment Funds for charities, designed to meet the needs of the UK Church and Charity investors.

Ecclesiastical Investment Management Services Ltd. (EIM) is a subsidiary of the Ecclesiastical Insurance Group Plc (LSE: ELLA), ultimately owned by Allchurches Trust Ltd., a registered charity. Located in Gloucester, UK, the firm is a financial services provider. Customers include individuals, families, churches, charities, schools, care homes and heritage building owners. EIM manages the five sub-funds of the Allchurches Investment Funds OEIC.
