The company was eventually taken over by Sembawang Maritime Ltd and renamed as 'SEMCO SALVAGE & MARINE PTE LTD' in April 1986. In March 1999, SEMCO was taken over by SembCorp Logistics Ltd for a brief period of time before being bought over by PSA Marine Pte Ltd in March 2001.
