Kent Berntsson

Ostrea Sverige AB's business concept is to manage large-scale cultivation and sale of the European flat oyster, Ostrea edulis. The cultivation takes place along the Bohus Coast. The provision for the oyster is ready to wholesalers, primarily in Europe. Karl Johan Smedman is the entrepreneur with experience in logistics and retail. Kent Berntsson was formerly a researcher at the Tjärnö Marine Biological Laboratory, focusing on the cultivation of oysters in particular. Dominique Bordes-Sue is a French marine biologist who developed and pursued several ostronkläckerier in southern Europe and northern Africa. These people represent the management of Ostrea Sverige AB. In 2004, the parties gathered at the initiative of Karl Johan to plan the development of a large-scale production of Swedish oysters. The cooperation resulted later in the company Ostrea Sverige AB was founded in 2006.
