Jesse S. Lawrence

After receiving a B.A.
from Emory University, Mr. Lawrence covered the New York technology industry as a Contributing Writer for “At New York.” He also served as Editor for the New York New Media Association’s (NYNMA) monthly newsletter.
In these roles, Mr. Lawrence reported on numerous local software companies such as DoubleClick.
In 1997, Mr. Lawrence transitioned into an operating role at StarMedia, where he developed and managed several cross-border e-commerce initiatives for clients including IBM.
During his tenure, the company grew from 50 to 250 people and completed one of the most successful IPOs of 1999.
After Starmedia, Mr. Lawrence was recruited by The Wedding List as a Business Development Manager to focus on partnership development and integration for the company's e-commerce platform.
After the company’s sale to Martha Stewart Omnimedia, Mr. Lawrence joined the Israeli-based collaboration software vendor, BrowseUp, where he targeted new customer opportunities in the financial services and document management sectors.
Prior to joining Updata full time in May of 2003, Mr. Lawrence graduated from Columbia Businesses School with a concentration in finance.
